The idea for millionaireby21.com was conceived out of a personal goal I had for myself. I have been developing software and websites since I was 12 years old. I decided about the time I was 16 that I had a future in the software, and internet industry. I started to take things more serious, read more books, played less games (a game called Tribes, specifically.) That is a semi-long story that isn’t necessarily relevant to this post, so I’ll leave it at that.
Along the way I realized that a lot of new websites were coming up, they were “weblogs” at first, then they just became “blogs.” Then I realized a lot of other sites were popping up called “startups” that were actual ideas that were useful. No longer did you have to have a million dollars to start a company that solved hundreds of thousands of peoples problems, you just needed the idea, and the know how, and sometimes not even the latter. Then the ever so popular “Web 2.0″ craze that took place during 2005-2006. I’m not going to argue about Web 2.0’s meaning, or origin. I just think the entire slogan for how the internet is viewed now has changed, and web 2.0 was on the tip of everyone’s tongue, someone just happened to think of it first. I’d rather that than one of those terrible cross-verb domain names like, “Webvolution” or something terrible like that.
I started to dream up my own ideas, and I got better and better at making websites, and software. Eventually I got to the place where I realized — wow, I can make these sites, but I don’t want to duplicate them, and the ideas started to come like no tomorrow, and I still get them every day. I have to sift through them and put them into the “marketable” pile, and some into the “abstract” pile. Some will work, and others are just a blast to toss around in your head.

Working on a project with a fellow web developer, we started to discuss current websites and their popularity, what they lacked, and what we as web junkies wanted. After talking for several hours til about 4-5 in the morning I looked to my friend and said that I just needed a place where I could stash my ideas for future ventures, somewhere I could encompass all of them. I shared my goal of being a millionaire by the time I was 21 years old, then immediately after that I realized, millionaireby21.com

I debated whether or not the idea was feasible, and if the internet was ready for the idea. After many ideas for a business model, and just general thoughts I read a quote on my Gmail on that top streaming section that read, “The only test for innovation is acceptance.” the second I read that I thought to myself, let’s see who accepts it.
